Our Mission

Georgetown Heritage’s mission is to celebrate and elevate the history, heritage, arts and culture of Georgetown. We are dedicated to creating memorable experiences and opportunities for residents and visitors through educational programs, events, partnerships, and a commitment to the unique character of DC’s oldest neighborhood.

  • Funded critical engineering studies which resulted in tens of millions of dollars in federal funds invested in canal infrastructure repairs in Georgetown

  • Launched an Arts Committee to begin planning and fundraising for more public art and cultural programming in Georgetown

What Comes Next

  • Lots more art - installations, events, pop-ups, and performances

  • Improvements to the canal towpath

  • More opportunities to engage with Georgetown’s history - tours, programs, and immersive learning experiences
