Engineering Tour - Canal Locks 3 & 4

  • C&O Canal Georgetown Visitor Center 1057 Thomas Jefferson Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20007 United States (map)

Are you curious why the C&O Canal in Georgetown has been empty for more than a year? Or wondering what exactly is going on down on that construction site at Thomas Jefferson Street? Join Georgetown Heritage and C&O Canal engineer Joe Reed for a tour of the nearly-completed rehabilitation of Locks 3 & 4. You’ll learn all about the project and how the National Park Service takes on a major rehabilitation of a historic functioning canal.

Space is limited, RSVP here.

Please note that the tour will take place on the street level, and will not go onto the work site due to safety restrictions.
