National Park Service
Georgetown Heritage is an official Friends Group of both the C&O Canal National Historical Park and Rock Creek Park. This partnership enables Georgetown Heritage to raise funds for the parks and establish mutual goals.
District of Columbia
Georgetown Heritage is supported by grant funding from the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. The DC Office of Planning provides staffing support to the development of the Georgetown Canal Plan.
The Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) provides staffing, office space, and administrative support to Georgetown Heritage. The C&O Canal project was first identified as a community priority during the Georgetown BID-led year-long community planning effort that created Georgetown 2028, a 15-year strategic plan for the neighborhood’s future.
